But it's popular among Lamma Island fans because of the calm surroundings, clean water and range of food and drinks nearby. The beach is also a favorite for dog owners, as their four-legged friends are welcome to tag along. Seasonally, it hosts events like outdoor cinemas, the dragon boat festival and the reggae festival. And it's just a 15-minute walk from Yung Shue Wan Village.

Nga Kau Wan Beach

Don’t let the size of Nga Kau Wan Beach deceive you. It may be smaller than other Lamma Island beaches, but it has gorgeous sunsets and great shade. Although the water may be rocky at times, the beach is popular for sunbathing and sandcastle-building. You can also bring your dogs over this beach, too, so they can play on the golden sand. To reach Nga Kau Wan Beach from the pier, simply make your way to the Man Lai Wah Hotel and take the Lamma Family Trail through the village. The journey to the beach should take about 10 to 15 minutes.

Mo Tat Wan Beach

Mo To Wan Beach is not your typical beach – it's super secluded in a tiny fishing village. Many visitors don’t come to sunbathe or build sandcastles, but it’s a great spot to grab a bite and go kayaking. In the middle of the beach, The Bay restaurant awaits to fuel you up before heading out for a kayaking excursion. The restaurant also rents out rooms if you're after an overnight stay. To reach the beach, it's recommended to arrive by ferry at the Mo Tat Wan Pier from Aberdeen. But, if you prefer to take a walk, you can come from the Sok Kwu Wan Ferry Pier and walk about 30 minutes to the beach.
